WEO, based in Luxembourg City Incubator, got founded in 2020 by Charlotte Wirion and Imeshi Weerasinghe to combine open-source satellite data and AI for a greener planet. The AI is used to enhance the open-source Earth Observation data to extract actionable information for its customers. WEO provides solutions for resilient cities, vegetation management, as well as sustainable water resource management.

Open data is a big part of WEO's approach as it allows us to provide an affordable and consistent service to its customers. Besides the open satellite data used like Sentinel platforms (1, 2 and 3) the open data provided by Luxembourg also play a significant role to allow WEO to provide its service.
