State Institute for Enology and Viticulture / Institut viti-vinicole de l'Etat
The State Institute for Enology and Viticulture (Institut viti-vinicole) in Remich was established in 1925. The main reason for its establishment was to contribute to the development of Viticulture in Luxemburg. The situation was critical as of invasion of phyloxera, plasmopara viticola and grape mildew at the beginning of 20th century. Today it provides the wine-growers with consulting in viticulture practices and wine analytics. It has developed several acres of experimental vineyards. It is also in charge of the vineyard registry and the administrative control of financial aid in viticulture.
