Climate and Energy - The climate ecology situation in Luxembourg
Description
The present climate analysis focuses in particular on the cold air balance and the small-scale summer thermal stress situation of the population both during the day and at night (protected good of "human health"). The Luxembourg regional climate, which forms during a low-exchange radiation weather situation in summer, was investigated with the help of high-resolution computer-aided modeling.
The rectangular study area used for climate modeling covers an area of about 5,170 km² (approximately 60.8 km x 85 km), so that elevation differences and land use in the surrounding area that influence the Luxembourg regional climate can be taken into account.
The study consists of the following parts:
- the study report "Climate Ecological Situation in Luxembourg, Model-based Regional Climate Analysis - La situation au Luxembourg en matière d'écologie climatique", prepared 2/2021 by LIST (Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology) in collaboration with GEO-NET Umweltconsulting GmbH on behalf of the Administration de l'Environnement.
- 6 high-resolution maps of the study report (format A0) as PDF, 2 of them also in French (ZIP),
- the GIS datasets with map templates (ZIP).
It should be emphasized that the use and interpretation of the maps under 2) and the GIS datasets under 3) must always be done in conjunction with and with reference to the study report under 1).
