Description

DevCity – Civic Tech Platform for Legislative Transparency

Description
DevCity is a civic tech project developed during the GovLabTech Hackathon 2025 by students from 42 Luxembourg. Our mission was to make Luxembourg’s legislative data more accessible and understandable to the public.

We reused official open datasets provided by data.public.lu to build an interactive platform where users can:

Search for members of parliament

View attendance records

Explore voting history

Browse authored legislation

Access official photos and contact info

This promotes transparency and strengthens civic engagement by turning complex legislative records into a user-friendly experience.

Used For
These datasets were parsed and integrated into a Next.js + Node.js web app with a REST API and dynamic frontend to allow filtering, searching, and displaying the information clearly.

Impact
By simplifying access to political data, DevCity empowers citizens, encourages accountability, and demonstrates the power of open data in democratic innovation.
